Pros

The day I got fired for doing nothing wrong and my manager couldn't even tell me why she fired me. It was a blessing in disguise because I had major anxiety and stress from this employer and experience. It is truly amazing how a company that claims to be doing good in this world is so tainted with bad upper management and a negative company culture.

Cons

Where do I even start....what I am sharing on my review is how EVERY single recovery tech feels. I know because we had a private group text to vent to and support one another. Their job posting is 100% BS. Great company culture - they are delusional. There is absolutely no culture at this company, let alone anything resembling or feeling great. The salary $40K-$75K is BS. Every tech makes a base of $40K and is promised that if you work really really hard, you will get bonuses. There bonus structure only favors technicians that work at hospitals that crank out c-sections. Only 3 techs earned bonuses and even then it was no where near $75K. They will hire you for one of two shifts (either 6AM-2PM or 2PM-10PM). However, they will require and insist that you monitor all texts, calls, emails after your shift. If you do not answer management within 2 minutes or less (no exaggeration), they start acting and texting like a psycho ex. They are very unprofessional and try to belittle you constantly (even if you are doing a good job). They act like they own you. My manager wouldn't even let me bring water to drink when I had to sit at the hospital for my entire 8 hour shift with literally no recoveries. This job could be an on-call position. With most hospitals being far from their corporate office, managers would sneak into town to try to "catch" techs. My manager was also extremely racist. I cannot recall how many times I heard her use the 'N' word. She would also talk about techs to other techs. They will also fire you with no rhyme or reason. I still don't know why I was fired. My co-worker was fired for not taking out the trash, which wasn't even full. Another co-worker (our top tech) was pregnant and missed a recovery case. The manager has never managed anyone in her life. She was previously a secretary and somehow this company thought it was a good idea to let her manager over 30 techs. They also installed surveillance cameras in every office so they can spy on everyone. My manager would make inappropriate comments to me about how she loved to watch this one particular office cam so she could see a certain male tech "strut his stuff." They also cut vacation time because they were missing out on money by missing recoveries. They do not offer opportunities for raises. They do not let you come in late even though you worked late. They are not employee friendly. It was like I was in an emotionally and verbally abusive relationship for the entire 16 months. I HIGHLY recommend to any job seekers to AVOID this company at all costs.

Pros

No Pros whatsoever with this company!!

Cons

TelaGen… I don’t know where to begin. They were super nice during the hiring process, training was fast and I was thrown out to the wolves due to another coworker requesting off. I was given multiple deviations(write ups basically) due to lack of training and being rushed. I asked to be retrained multiple times and finally after 7 months I got retrained. I was hired on for 6am-2pm (salary) without OT payment, and 40hr a week. Well that’s not true, they expect you to stay late, catch early cases, catch cases after you get off. It’s to the point most workers won’t even tell them if a late case is being added on because they will expect you to get it. If you don’t get it, be ready for some type of retaliation against you. They expect you breathe and live for TelaGen and nothing else, including your family. Management changes often, the company is being ran by a EMT that didn’t know how to open a hypo and didn’t know the umbilical cord had multiple veins. That surfaced due to him coming to train us on collecting blood. What a joke. I haven’t met not one person in management that’s honest at all. You ask a question, they dance around the answer/truth. You have some managers saying you don’t have to sit at the hospital and others saying you do. Complete mind games. They are always hiring due to management and how they treat their employees. They always think/accuse you of lying, interrogate you whenever they think you are without any solid proof. What sealed the deal for me was when one of my coworkers tested positive for Covid 19, she was instructed not to tell us, and not to tell the hospital(s) that she had exposed patients and newborn babies!! They did not send us to be tested nor did make us quarantine as we should’ve, instead we reported to work possibly exposing patients and newborn babies the very next day. Why would a company do that?!! Months later my child was exposed and I got a text asking will I be at work the next morning. I told my manager no because I didn’t want to responsible for possibly exposing patients and babies. She then asked for my proof of my child being tested. Which I provided. Had I not said no, she would’ve let come to work and expose other innocent people. Just sad and only concerned about the company. Basically as long as you are staying late, not questioning them, and jumping through hoops whenever they say, your job is safe. If not, be ready for all kind of deviations(write ups) & attitudes. I’ve witnessed a manager physically assault a employee in front of me, I’ve witnessed a manager verbally abuse a employee, and I’ve also seen a manager put her fingers in her ears to keep from hearing a employee out. Nothing was done about either one, all management are friends, the company is ran/operated by close friends as well. Please don’t allow that “$40k” salary to lure you in. It’s not $40k by the way. They advertise bonuses, you never get them, they the stipulations once you hit that quota for bonuses and you don’t get a penny. There isn’t any integrity within this company. You are expected to travel/bounce around to multiple hospitals without any compensation for doing so. They expect you to respond to them after work hours, no matter what. They’re not ok with coworkers actually being friends at work. If you are, that’s a problem. The list could go on!! If you’re looking for a peaceful work environment, understanding managers, integrity, and honesty, this is NOT the company for you!! Last but not least, they also falsified our drug screens that the hospitals require us to have before entering the hospitals.

Pros

The concept behind what they do.....

Cons

Poor Management support. You're treated like a child and not trusted to do your job. Constantly criticized and never applauded. Expected to go above and beyond but not compensated for anything extra. No concern for employees wellbeing or that of our families. It's all about the bottom line for the extreme compensation for Management with no management skills.
