If you're reading this, you're probably interested in, or are being considered for a position at theAudience. I'm writing this from the perspective of what I wish someone told me before I joined. With that being said, a few things you should know:
- In the 5 years I've been here, theAudience has cycled through 4 different CEOs, each with their own idea for what should/shouldn't happen. This has led to the the company having schizophrenic vision and no strategic direction.
- In those same 5 years, this company has moved to 4 different offices. Each time the team gets smaller and smaller.
- There is no New York office, there is no Dubai office. There is a team of less than 10 people left at the company's office in LA.
- There is no one left from HR, finance, strategy, or creative. i.e. There is no support from a senior management standpoint to address your questions/concerns.
- TheAudience was acquired by a holding company based in Dubai. While this sounds like good news, the challenges far outweigh the benefits.
- The new owner of the company does not have a firm grasp on the industry that he's operating in. As a result, a lot of decisions don't align with, or are completely counter to what theAudience is about.
- The latest leadership has plans to mutate theAudience with another company, but has yet to determine the how/why & what purpose it will serve strategically.
