Pivoting from being about people to being about profit
Pros
I enjoyed some of my happiest and most satisfying professional experiences while at ustwo. The people I worked with were some of the smartest and most caring individuals I've come across. The EQ levels were impressively high across the board which meant we were able to learn from our mistakes and improve.
Cons
The company has really shifted over the last 1-2 years. There used to be a high emphasis on its people, but that has now become lip service. Actions speak louder than words and actions at the senior level are all focused on maximizing profit at the expense of people. It's no longer about interesting work. As a result, a lot of talented people have left. Turnover has been through the roof and there's been a shift to hiring contractors over permanent staff which means people are less invested.
