Software Implementation Project Manager salaries in Australia

Looking to shift into project management out of the architecture/interior design world and would like to land a PM role in another field. I’m doing training courses to prep for PMP certification. Multiple courses are saying you don’t need experience in the specific field a PM job is posted for, but all PM positions I’m seeing are asking for 3-5+ years specialized experience in their field (ex. graphic design, tech, medical). Current Project Managers, how true is this when looking for a job?

Anyone who has experience with the project management course by Google from coursera? I’m trying to understand the actual complexity, timeframe and feasible return. I have project management experience learned on the job and I am hoping the certification gives me more of the foundation, helps to build a portfolio and open more doors to me. For background: Senior Supply chain planner, aspiring for management role in operations OR put my foot in the door for PM jobs. TIA

I currently work at the BBC and it has been super fun and engaging lately. I have gained qualifications in PRINCE2 Practitioner and APM PMQ. I am now looking for the next step in becoming a Project Manager and wondered if anyone had any opportunities/tips available that they could help me with.
