While football fans everywhere prepare to root for their favorite teams this weekend, our teams were focused on a different kind of competition — our annual SOUPer Bowl. 🏈🥣 Team members brought their best recipes, cast their votes, and ultimately crowned Trish Metts as this year’s champion with her winning Rueben soup, earning the coveted prized ladle. Alongside the fun, we also held a food drive in support of the Food Bank of Delaware in Milford, turning friendly competition into meaningful community impact. Events like these highlight how engagement, connection, and giving back go hand in hand.

February is an important month in the company's history, so on February 24th, the entire company celebrated with KFC, cake, and a unique trivia game. The story goes that in the early 1960s, Jack Burris was head of the Delmarva Poultry Industry. During this time, Colonel Sanders was a guest at the Burris summer residence for two nights. Late one night, high winds caused the Colonel to wake the Burris children and send them to the beach to rescue the boats. Enjoy some of these fun snapshots from the events!
It's SOUPerbowl season! Every year, our team stirs up some friendly office competition by sharing our most delicious soups. The team votes on their favorite, and the winning chef takes home the coveted prize ladle! When you're a part of the Burris team, you celebrate creativity, camaraderie, and culinary excellence!
2025 is a year of celebration - we are celebrating 100 years! From humble beginnings on the East Coast to serving customers and communities across our nation today, we take great pride in our organization. Our headquarters was bustling last week as leaders from across the organization met ahead of the new calendar to celebrate the year's successes, plan for the upcoming year, and talk about areas for growth. We love the opportunity to have Team Members from all of our companies in one place for a few days and are very excited about the future.
Did you know that part of our benefits package is that each Team Member gets a paid volunteer day each year to volunteer at a place they choose? This past year, our Team Members have volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, The Food Bank and even donated blood, just to name a few. It is important to us to support our local communities, and we love seeing our Team Members get involved in causes that are meaningful to them.
Our Milford Team enjoyed a pig roast prepared by our very own CIO and Team! Team Members enjoyed many summer favorites, including pretzel salad, corn on the cob, and yard games. It was a great opportunity to enjoy summer and celebrate our Team's hard work.
