Last month, members of our Clark Schaefer Strategic HR team used their paid Volunteer Time Off to serve at Matthew 25: Ministries in Cincinnati, helping sort and prepare donated goods for those in need across the U.S. and around the world. At Clark Schaefer Hackett, every associate receives eight hours of VTO each year, because giving back to our communities is not only a part of our mission statement; it's who we are. Shout out to the team for leading with purpose!

At CSH, we believe that the best way to start a new fiscal year is by recharging, reconnecting, and focusing on what matters most—our people. That’s why we took the first week of the year to shut down operations and give our team the time they deserve to rest, reset, and return refreshed. Here’s how some of our amazing team members spent their week: 🌍 Kyle Shumate, CMO – Celebrated his 10-year anniversary by traveling through Europe with his wife, Amanda! 🫐 Frank Steele, Talent Optimization Director – Picked blueberries and crafted his signature canned jams and goodies. ☕ Megan Mersch, HR Business Partner — Enjoyed the simple pleasure of slowing down with a cup of coffee. 📚🎮 Kim Umbstead, Social Media Manager – Spent time reading and diving into her favorite game, Hogwarts Legacy. Taking time for ourselves isn’t just a perk; it’s part of how we invest in our people. When we come back refreshed, we’re ready to do our best work together.
We are proud to share that Brittany Lawrence, CPA and Tiffany White, CPA, Shareholders and Co-chairs of our internal women’s initiative Advancing Women in Leadership (AWIL), have been named 2025 Power of Change Honorees by The Ohio Society of CPAs! This recognition is awarded to professionals who demonstrate extraordinary leadership, innovation, community impact, and mentorship, and Brittany and Tiffany do just that, especially through their work with AWIL. Through their stewardship of AWIL, they’ve expanded leadership development programs, developed mentorship opportunities, and championed inclusive policies that support women at every level of our firm. Their work helps ensure that women’s talents, voices, and ideas are seen, heard, and elevated — and that leadership is truly accessible to all. Join us in congratulating Brittany and Tiffany on their remarkable contributions to our firm, the industry, and the communities we serve! 👏✨

"I am very honored and excited to be accepted into the Leadership Northern Kentucky class of 2026," Annemarie shared. "I am most excited about creating lasting connections with other people in the Northern Kentucky community. I was recently at the Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky awards event, and one of the honorees referenced her Leadership Northern Kentucky class of 2000. I thought that was a true testament to the lasting impact of the program." Haley Griffith-Baughman and Kelly Taylor from CSH had a great time at the Greater Springfield Partnership's 8th Grade Career Fair, where they connected with 1,000+ students and gave them a glimpse into the world of public accounting. With a fun puzzle activity, they showed how accountants piece together financial info to build the big picture, from tax returns to financial statements. 🧩 The best part? Seeing so many curious minds exploring future careers! The world of accounting is always evolving, and the next generation of talent is already asking the right questions. 🙌 Special thanks to Consider Clark County for hosting us!
