Our family of the new generation gateways has grown by the two new additions with extended capabilities of geolocation and 4G cellular connectivity – InteliGateway 101 and InteliGateway 301. The new variants share the same basic functionality as the already available models while adding on top a cellular module that provides further connectivity with our cloud-based monitoring and management service WebSupervisor: Geolocation capability through pre-built satellite-based radio navigation (GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS) for visualisation in WebSupervisor 4G cellular connectivity to WebSupervisor when wired network connectivity is not present or disrupted What are the differences between the two InteliGateways? InteliGateway 101 enables versatile connection of 3rd party Modbus devices with ComAp's monitoring and management tools WebSupervisor and InteliSCADA. InteliGateway 301 connects 3rd party Modbus devices with InteliSCADA and WebSupervisor, as well as with ComAp's controllers over CAN1. We hope these new gateway variants will further boost our solution for hybrid microgrids and mobile rental applications.
Our largest department is Research and Development, and a large part of it is Embedded Software. Our colleague Petr works as an Embedded Software Test Engineer - Test Coordinator. Sounds like a complicated position, right? 😊 Let us guide you through it. The Test Coordinator leads a team of testers and test experts who verify the quality of our Embedded Software and help detect bugs during development. Peter also works with a team of programmers who develop automated testing tools. Petr decided to join ComAp because of the positive impressions he got about the company culture and the expertise of his future peers. "It was probably the first interview which was quite fun and engaging. I have to say that I was impressed by the people's mindset. I, therefore, canceled my previous job offer and joined ComAp." What does Peter like about working at ComAp? "The career and growth possibilities on one hand. I started as a junior tester, moved up to a senior and currently am the Test Coordinator. And the possibility to innovate. Unlike other companies I have worked for, I have really had an
Shoebox, Movember and Employees Mini-grants. Those are some of the projects we took part in this November to support our local communities. As part of ComAp Cares, our social responsibility programme we support long-term projects in which our employees are active. Our colleagues from R&D took up the Movember challenge, and not only did they 'sacrifice' their smoothly shaved faces🧔 but also decided to contribute with personal donations. And ComAp just topped the donation a bit further. For the Shoebox project, we gathered Christmas presents for children in need to make their Christmas a little warmer. And those young sportsmen in the photos are children from Italy that our colleague Riccardo trains in basketball. This is part of the Olimpiasile IN, a project that supports the inclusion of children with disabilities, and this year it was one of those we supported within our Employees' Mini-grants initiative. Thank you to all who care because ComAp Cares.
Collaborating with students and inspiring them to pursue a career in engineering and technology is one of our favourite activities. We recently had a workshop for high school students in Jecna, Czech Republic, using our simplified teaching controller InteliBit. The feedback both from the students and the professors was amazing, they were really happy to see how theory translates into action, understand how to protect the engine from damage, optimise its work and ensure the engine’s longevity thanks to smart control. 😊 If you are from a technical high school in the Czech Republic and would like to join our workshops, please contact us. This is a great opportunity to learn about what we do and potentially get an internship or traineeship with us.
Last week, we had an opportunity to think and care about our health a bit more than usual. ComAp Health Days gave us a chance to take part in a variety of hands-on workshops – from cold therapy to a seminar on stress reduction, prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome, as well as how to better understand our body. Our colleagues even held part of the workshops. Richard had an opening warm-up session, Martin led Kung Fu and Shaolin, and Martina showed us some exercises for a healthy back. Thank you for this lovely opportunity to rest actively and for all those healthy tips.
ComAp opens a new subsidiary in Johannesburg, South Africa ComAp, the leading provider of smart energy control solutions, opens its 14th subsidiary in Johannesburg, South Africa. With this step, ComAp intensifies its local presence in this region to further help our customers to provide safe reliable energy, and support Africa’s energy transition towards sustainable and efficient power management solutions, both in the private and public sectors. “We are excited that we have managed to find the right team for the South Africa office. This will allow us to offer ComAp local technical support as well as commercial discussions in the whole Southern Africa region. On top of our core power generation business, the local team will focus on the latest clean energy trends, including hybrid microgrids, sustainable marine systems, and the highly efficient bi-fuel/dual-fuel conversion systems,” says Martin Bednar, acting Managing Director of ComAp South Africa.
InteliGen 500 G2 – The new generation of advanced paralleling gen-set controller ComAp announces the new generation of our InteliGen 500 controller for advanced paralleling applications - InteliGen 500 G2. This new generation brings its predecessor´s established features but also adds greater cyber security, improved communication possibilities, and more flexibility. Moreover, the new generation of InteliGen 500 is also designed to fully replace the older “all-in-one“ InteliGen NT and InteliGen NTC controllers, which means a significant broadening of the InteliGen 500 G2 capabilities. For doing so, the Extended Features Software Key is needed to be added into InteliGen 500 G2.
Introduction to Microgrids - The Future of Power Generation Traditionally, electricity is generated from a central source, which is then distributed via transmission lines to consumers. This electricity is usually fuelled by coal, gas or nuclear sources. However, the traditional power generation model is being put under more and more pressure, and in the interim, consumers are left exposed to power fluctuations, blackouts and more frequent critical infrastructure failures. Users are looking for alternatives that can provide reliability, stability and lower costs. Users are also looking for solutions that can provide power in a more environmentally sustainable way than other fossil fuel-powered plants. Distributed power systems, in the form of microgrids, are the future of power generation, providing independence, resilience, and environmental benefits, as well as providing a cost-effective source of supply.
InteliVision 18Touch G2 – The new generation of 18" display ComAp releases the new generation of InteliVision 18Touch panel PC, InteliVision 18Touch G2. InteliVision 18Touch G2 is designed for complete monitoring and control of complex installations and sites with multiple controllers, which have numerous values to measure, such as CHP applications. The new generation display comes also with embedded ComAp´s InteliSCADA software enabling users to freely configure their screen with different types of items such as meters, bar graphs, numeric values, control buttons, pictures, etc. The software allows users to check the history of multiple controllers and change setpoints from a single location. IGS-LOG software for continuous logging of desired parameters is also preinstalled there at no additional costs.
