Each year one in five Australians will experience a mental illness, a statistic our acting Head of HR Jordan Paterson wanted to do something about. In the past year, Jordan, along with 21 of her fellow CoreLogic Australia colleagues received their qualifications in Mental Health First Aid. Each of those individuals voluntarily spent 15 hours learning simple, practical first aid skills that can help a family member, friend, co-worker or anyone who is experiencing mental health problems. “This was triggered by our response to COVID, even though we thought we were past the hump in 2020, we knew our support couldn’t stop there,” Jordan said. “Mental health is something I’ve been acutely aware of my whole life, from a young age I was aware of people suffering with something I couldn’t see. I have a drive for bringing awareness and support to anyone in need.” Today is R U OK? Day. It’s a national day of action and an important reminder that making contact and checking in with those around us can make a genuine difference in someone’s life.
Creating an inclusive workplace that is safe and supportive, where the attributes that make each of us unique are acknowledged, valued and celebrated is our commitment. That’s why CoreLogic is proudly celebrating Wear It Purple Day today and joining the national conversation on sexual orientation and gender identity. Wear it Purple recognises our rainbow youth for who they are and is an opportunity for us to reflect as an organisation on how we can help all our employees feel comfortable and confident enough to bring their true selves to work.
CoreLogic proudly celebrates diversity and inclusion. Which is why we've partnered with Pride in Diversity - a national not-for-profit program for LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion. PID specialises in HR, organisational change, and workplace diversity and is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ people by reducing exclusion, invisibility, homophobia and stigma in the workplace. CoreLogic’s Diversity & Inclusion Executive Sponsor Mark Woolnough and our entire executive leadership team is committed to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive workplace. As an active member organisation of the Diversity Council Australia, we want to see a society that values and celebrates all our people. #pride #inclusion #corelogic
We are delighted to announce our Head of Research Eliza Owen is a finalist in not one but two categories for the RICS Awards 2021 Australia. Eliza specialises in descriptive and inferential data analysis, data visualisation and framing data trends with broader economic concepts. She’s an industry leader and a wonderful role model with interests in issues such as housing affordability, women in property and unpacking the impacts of COVID-19 on the housing market.
