At Great Southern Bank, we are big advocates of mental health and wellbeing, not just today but every day. We offer free Headspace subscriptions for team members, Wellbeing Wednesday posts sharing information and resources, Mental Health training, and a Just for You leave day to help every team member recharge. We are also big supporters of RUOK? Day. It’s a great opportunity to further educate and grow awareness of mental health and for teams to take time out to check in on each other. To recognise the day, we held a Mental Health for Leaders training sessions for all team members, and teams got together over morning teas, BBQs, team lunches and lucky dip tea meet ups. Last night, we held our annual Jack Harvey Awards – a night where we honour our history and recognise team members for their outstanding impact and contribution to our purpose of helping all Australians to own their own home. With a record 185 nominations across three award categories, we’re thrilled to announce our winners for 2022 are: 🥇 Credit assessor Chris Deller for the Jack Harvey Excellence Award; 🥇 Head of Core Platforms Ross McGrath for the Exceptional Leadership Award; and 🥇 The Financial Assistance team, led by Annie Brett, for our Team of the Year Award. Nominated by their peers, the finalists attended the awards dinner in Brisbane last night, where the winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes. Jack Harvey Excellence Award winner Chris Deller will also have his name engraved on the Jack Harvey plaque in our Brisbane Hub 🏆 Congratulations to our winners and finalists, and thanks to all at Great Southern Bank for nominating their team members and recognising their great work 👏

Vickee joined Great Southern Bank earlier this year as our Head of Customer and Enterprise Platforms. “I look after the strategy, delivery and running of tech such as the mobile app, online banking and our IT service desk. Every day my team and I focus on enabling new features and keeping our tech safe and up to date.” Talking about what she loved most about the role, she adds, “I love making people’s lives better through technology whether that’s a customer or a team member. There are some really complex problems to solve when running technology for a bank – it’s exciting to define a problem and goal, sort out a plan and then bring the teams together to implement something new and meaningful for people.” We love that customer obsession! 👏💙
