Written off even before the race began, Mercedes-Benz racing driver Ewy Rosqvist didn't just finish the 1962 Argentinian Touring Car Grand Prix—she conquered it, coming in first in all stages of the race and smashing the speed record at 126 km/hr. Ewy was a force in motorsport, redefining what was possible for women behind the wheel. From the narrow dirt tracks of her early days to her historic victory in 1962 and numerous victories that followed, she proved skill and determination know no gender or boundaries. 🏆 Her legendary achievement stands as one of the most impressive #MercedesBenzBreakthroughs in motorsport history. As a lifelong ambassador, she embodied the spirit of performance, resilience, and progress that Mercedes-Benz stands for. #EwyRosqvist #WomenBehindWheels #WomensHistoryMonth
What if the future of mobility was circular? In October last year, Mercedes-Benz realised this vision with the opening of Europe's first battery recycling plant with an integrated mechanical-hydrometallurgical process in Kuppenheim, Germany. The aim is to recover up to 96% of the materials in a battery for our electric vehicles. Closing the battery recycling loop, the facility has an initial capacity of 2,500 tonnes per year – which can produce more than 50,000 battery modules for Mercedes-Benz electric and hybrid models.
