OhioHealth is committed to providing expert, brain-saving stroke care, and we're proud to announce that five of our hospitals were recently recognized for just that. Congratulations to Riverside Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Grant Medical Center, Mansfield Hospital and Marion General Hospital on being honored by the American Heart Association's Get with the Guidelines® initiative. This designation highlights our continued commitment to life-saving heart and stroke care for patients, including meeting quality measures developed to reduce the time between a patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment.
OhioHealth Grant Medical Center has received its fifth consecutive Magnet recognition, a testament to our continued dedication to high-quality nursing practice. The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes healthcare organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence. This credential is the highest national honor for professional nursing practice. Only 1% of hospitals in the United States have earned this designation five times or more.
The importance of a work bestie can’t be overlooked. Having a meaningful connection at work is a strong predictor of engagement, performance, and happiness among employees. From survey results, OhioHealth ranks in the 79th percentile when asked, “Do you have a best friend at work?” To celebrate and further promote friendship within the organization, we created these symbolic charms for associates to gift to one another. After swapping the charms, associates are now sporting them on their shoes and bracelets! Read more about the research behind trusted relationships in the workplace. ⬇️
We’re thrilled to share that OhioHealth is now the 2nd largest employer in central Ohio according to Columbus Business First! With the addition of nearly 2,700 jobs last year, including over 600 at the new Pickerington Methodist Hospital, we’re committed to improving the health of the communities we serve.
OhioHealth recently partnered with Zappos to treat our associates to new shoes. It’s just one way to say thanks for the exceptional care and service our teams provide to the community. An impressive 30,500+ employees, or 97% of our eligible workforce, took advantage of the program. With fresh kicks, associates are continuing to make every step count – both on and off the clock!
A colorful example of pride in practice. Along with OhioHealth’s PRIDE Business Resource Group, more than 250 associates participated in the Stonewall Columbus Pride March & Festival this past weekend. It was one of our largest employer-sponsored teams for a community event – a testament to the inclusive care and safe workplace we provide for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
OhioHealth has ranked in Fair360’s Top Hospitals and Health Systems 2024 list! Coming in at #7, we’re honored to be recognized for our continued commitment to a fair, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
