If you follow us, you probably know that Paycor has a virtual-first work environment. We love the flexibility and freedom that comes with it – work/life balance has never been so good! But WFH set-ups still have their challenges. Almost 25% of remote workers in the U.S. say they have less access to resources and equipment than they would in person. We make every effort to buck that trend. That’s why all U.S.-based Paycor associates have access to a Tech Wallet to set up their home offices. From the day a new hire starts work, they can use their balance to buy monitors, microphones, headsets, or whatever tech tools they need. Paycor also makes monthly deposits to each associate’s Tech Wallets, so they can invest in new tools over time. That way, our team’s home offices can grow alongside their careers.
At Paycor, we don’t just celebrate DE&I – we look for practical, tangible ways to empower our diverse team. Take the WIN retreat, for instance. WIN, or Women’s Inspiration Network, is one of our most active ERGs. In their own words, these associates work hard to “be a source of inspiration and support for women to join, stay, and thrive at Paycor.” Associates of all genders are welcome to join. Just last month, we hosted WIN’s second annual retreat, Blazing Trails: Igniting the Power of Connections. The women of Paycor came together in person to fight burnout, share stories, and build relationships with each other. We can’t wait to see what new ideas come out of this exciting event! Together, we can WIN!
Our virtual-first environment gives us a lot of freedom – and it makes work friendships that much more important. That’s why we’re giving a huge shout-out to our culture champions! That includes regional champs in 5 US states and a total of 3 countries, and functional champions across Paycor’s different departments. Wherever they are, and whatever type of work they do, these rockstars also plan events for Paycor associates. Thank you, culture champions, for your time, dedication, and infectious enthusiasm. When we really connect with each other, everybody wins!
Our team has heart! And we don’t just mean team spirit – we also care about literal heart health. 17 teams of Paycor associates participated in the 2024 Heart Mini-Marathon and Walk last month, raising 202,866. These funds go to support life-saving research by the American Heart Association. This event is a great example of how we embody Paycor’s values. Raising funds for heart health is just one way that we Do the Right Thing…and Have Fun Along the Way. Giving back to the community, connecting with each other, and enjoying time outside…what could be better?
Happy Women’s History Month! At Paycor, we recognize that women face unique challenges, especially in the workplace. That’s why we hold space for groups like WIN, the Women’s Inspiration Network, an ERG supporting the women on our team. WIN members are currently prepping for their second annual retreat, where they’ll come together to fight burnout, share stories, and build relationships with each other. Soft skills and emotional support are essential for personal and professional success. But they’re not the whole picture. We also empower women – and all our associates – in more tangible ways. For example, everyone on the Paycor team has equity in the company. Employees can choose to participate in our employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) to invest in their own success – literally. We believe in empowering leaders, and that includes the current and future leaders on our own team.
February is Black History Month, but at Paycor, DE&I is a priority all year. These values inform everything from our recruiting process to our annual calendar. They’re also reflected in our ERGs. Alex Schutte, Senior Director of Marketing Demand Generation, explains it best: “The Colorful Connections ERG was founded to give Paycor’s associates of color a place for community to bond and share with others across the company that looked like them. Colorful Connections played an instrumental role in the wake of the George Floyd murder and rise of the Black Lives Matter movement to educate the broader company on the black experience. Colorful Connections successfully pushed for paid holidays for all associates for MLK Day and Juneteenth as well as hiring our first full time DE&I leader. As the executive sponsor of Colorful Connections, and a black male, I am deeply proud of what the ERG has done for Paycor.” Thanks to these efforts, Paycor has been named a Culture Excellence award winner by Top Workplaces for three years running. In 2023, we were recognized in four key areas: DE&I Practice, Employee Appreciation, Employee Well-Being, and Professional Development. These awards are solely based on employee feedback, highlighting just how proud our team is of Paycor’s culture.
Paycor is proud to offer specialized training programs to our employees. Recently 21 Paycor associates wrapped up the Bonfire program, a 6-month training intensive for women in business. Montoya Hawthorne, Principal HR Business Partner at Paycor, puts it best: “Bonfire offers an opportunity to invest in yourself…The diverse slate of speakers made me consider and improve how I intentionally present myself at work.”
