In January, The Wenger Group held its first-ever Coaching Clinic, led by Laura Schanz of Laura Schanz Consulting Associates. This 12-hour course saw the participation of 18 former graduates from “Managing From The Inside Out.” Attendees had the opportunity to practice coaching principles and techniques aimed at fostering both personal and professional growth for their team.

Project and Data Analytics Director Eric Gingrich participated in a panel discussion at the Bin Sentry User Conference in September. Wenger Feeds has been using Bin Sentry feed bin sensors for several years. This technology has been installed on hundreds of customer bins to measure the amount of feed inventory remotely. The sensors reduce the likelihood of inventory discrepancies and supply visibility for better feed inventory management.
A powerful geomagnetic storm made the aurora borealis visible from the Jersey shore to the Poconos, and our photographers were ready. We publish photos submitted by our team members in our newsletter every month.
Our 16 interns ended their assignments in early August with a presentation to our entire HR team about their experiences at The Wenger Group. We were grateful for their work and their enthusiasm this summer. Our Dutchland Farms intern spent time helping our team with compliance issues including mapping the size of barns. This helps to accurately present a bird number based on compliance certifications for that farm.
Our photo contributors really caught the best shots of a rainbow over our corporate office on July 31.
Utilizing in-house expertise, Dutchland Farms, a business unit within The Wenger Group, worked with an established contract producer and his family to convert a 13,000-bird cage free layer barn into a Vencomatic Gallery aviary system. The remodel was achieved without moving any of the building’s wall and utilizing the multiple floors that chickens can live on in the new gallery system. The producer and his family are excited to have a modern system that allows them to work on the farm where they live.
We’re celebrating our 80th year in October, so we are sharing some unique photos to highlight the rich history of the company. The Landis Brothers garage in 1941 pictured here on the left would become Wenger’s office in 1982. On the right, the former YTI building on Hempland Road is being transformed into a new office space for The Wenger Group.
Terri Gridley, Director of Total Rewards was invited to present at the 2024 AG & Food HR Roundtable sponsored by AG Careers in July. Her presentation, titled “Rewards Revolution,” delved into the evolving landscape of Total Rewards within Human Resources. While a decade ago, Team Members might have associated Total Rewards solely with compensation and benefits, today’s definition is much broader with a more holistic approach. It encompasses not only financial aspects but also Recognition, Professional Development, Work-Life Balance, and more.
