What is the hiring process like at BairesDev?

      BairesDev reviews

      Good Company, Bad Salary

      Senior software engineer
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

It is a good company to work for, they care about your health, the projects are cool, and you might be working with efficient people.

      Cons

Once you have negotiated your salary during the hiring process, it is almost impossible to get a raise in the future. No matter how good and exceptional you are, no matter how good the feedback you received from your managers and from your client. It doesn't matter what they say to you. And if they provide a raise to you, it will be almost irrelevant.

Respected and valued as a professional

      Senior qa engineer

      Business outlook

      Pros

It's been 6 months at BairesDev, and from the start, I’ve felt genuinely respected and truly valued as both a professional and a person. The company has fully delivered on the benefits and offers presented during the hiring process, and it has exceeded my expectations in general about how they value and respect their resources.

      Cons

Nothing that I can think of.

      Business outlook

      Pros

I had a really great experience with the team and the processes at BairesDev. From the Interview process on they were always very friendly and they truly provide ample flexibility.

      Cons

They sometimes fault in requesting people to move to completely different roles from what they were hired for, without any change in compensation.

      Good, until... Is not

      Anonymous employee
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Is only good if you get hired as a developer or tech profile. They have an actual work-life balance policy that is implemented, Your time is being tracked not only to check on your productivity but also to make sure you're not working late at night. They also have some extra activities out of work to create a more cohesive environment.

      Cons

RUN if they´re hiring you for Talent Acquisition. Baires is basically a contractor for other contractors, chances are if you get into TA you'll be insanely overworked, and you have to met those goals within the 8 hours shift or else you'll be considered a bad performer. The hiring process isn't transparent at all, nor with the functions, the salary or the benefits, The managering style is very low key micromanaging, your manager will have access to your mouse, your screen and all your activities, but they will not let you know until they come to you with a notice, and additionally, after months working there, you'll notice that they are measuring your work with metrics and KPIs that you didn't know it existed. They only value numbers over real productivity.

Okay company if you get into a good project

      Qa automation engineer
      Former contractor
      Quito
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

      - Decent salary - They respect your vacations and allows to do extra paid time - Udemy business and english classes - IT support is very effective - Fast hiring process - You are not obligated to do invoices - When you get fired, they pay you a month salary for each year you worked for them and the pending vacations

      Cons

      - Timetracker to get your payment - Some clients are unstable and tend to finish the project in a few months - You will likely be fired soon after the project ends - Depending on the project, project manager or scrum manager will do micro management - Monthly payment after the first 7 days of the next month

      Pros

BairesDev has been an amazing place to grow my career. Every day brings exciting new challenges and interesting projects. I've also been able to work with incredibly smart and talented teammates from all over the world (Canada, US, UK, Italy, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Argentina etc.). In the past 10 months, I've learned a ton about software development and worked on dozens of impactful initiatives. With BairesDev, you can work from anywhere, and schedules are pretty flexible. They pay for hardware, software, vacations, maternity/paternity leave and more. For me, the best part about working here is the people. Everyone is hard-working, respectful, and growth-minded. Everyone can speak English pretty well, so things don't get lost in translation. The marketing team doesn't have a ton of meetings, which is great, because Zoom fatigue can be a real drain on productivity. There are lots of established SOPs and guidelines (so onboarding is smooth), but also the teams are very dynamic, and willing to pivot and adapt as business goals change. This is pretty important to me, too - I love working in fast-paced environments and solving unique business challenges. If all of that sounds right up your alley, BairesDev's internal marketing team might be a great fit for you.

      Cons

Only con is the interview process may be longer than other companies, and it's designed to be quite rigorous, so only the top 1% of candidates can make it through. But if you do make it through, life-changing opportunities await!

      Meat Sellers

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Simplified hiring process, not too much trouble to get an offer.

      Cons

Working in Baires I learned (the hard way) the expression Meat Seller, that sums up what Baires is. One of the things is that they abandon you with a client, your experience with them will depend entirely on the Focal Point (client-side manager) that you are lucky enough to work with, if you get along well, then you will have a good life, otherwise Anyway, I recommend that you go as soon as you can because your life will be hell. Baires promises that he will review your salary, but he will not. Make sure you negotiate a good starting salary because that is unlikely to change over time. A few months ago they introduced me to HPP (low performance for those who don't know), I didn't even last a month on it because it is an absurd thing and it serves exactly the opposite of what they say it is, during that time I had a crisis of anxiety because no one explained to me what was happening behind the scenes. In the end my performance only went down during that period, when it was finished it returned to normal. In short, Baires is not the company of anyone's dreams and if you have not worked as a contractor before doing so for the first time with them it can be shocking.

Great place to work, it’s my second time joining Baires’ team and they provide flexible work hours, good work/life balance and care a lot for the employees.

      Cons

      Pros

Great culture, the recruitment process is pretty straightforward, if there is not a client that has been matched to your profile, the company will keep searching until a position is made available for you, this is a great benefit. Time is not wasted on meeting, this is important. You just need to deliver. Equipment is latest generation, handed to you for your first day.

      Cons

I wouldn't think there is a con based on my experience. They work constantly to keep you motivated and focus on life/work balance.
