What is working from home like at ClimateWorks Foundation?

- Good benefits for a nonprofit. I've been at other nonprofits with more PTO and better 401k, but it's not bad. - Great WFH benefits. Anything you want, you get. - Strong development team. - Solid marcomm. - DEI gets an A for effort.

- It's common to still be "feeling it out" a few weeks after getting hired, but more common than not, people are hired and then doing random things for at least six months, if not more. There isn't a solid effort for onboarding. Feels like every time a department wants to hire, HR says yes. - HR is weak. Performance improvement plans are thrown around whenever managers feel like doing it. I know several people have gotten them without a concrete explanation of the reason. No HR in other organizations would've let these plans go out their doors. - My boss has been a hyper-micromanager for many years. Deadlines are of their creation and everyone else just needs to jump in whenever they feel like it. Everyone knows that they're the main reason people leave. I know their department gets paid more than others and that's because of this reason. Other departments are exasperated working with the team and have blatantly said that working with the team takes so long and so pointless. I sense our stakeholders don't appreciate them either. I heard rumors that staff have tried to get them fired and that their peer reviews were abysmal. Alas, they're still there and I'm not. However, my boss wasn't the only one. I know other directors who forced 1-2 people in their team to come to the office every day for the sake of coming to the office, are also micromanagers and consistently keep staff in low positions. A lot of staff need working visas so they know who they can bully and still won't quit.
