Pros
1) Attractive annual package as well as good benefits. 2) Lots of recreational and welfare events 3) Exposure to high security work environment. May lead you to another high security industry environment.
Cons
1) CEO decides kind of environment. Attended many management meetings and I don’t hear other management members speaking up. Everyone is fearful of CEO. 2) Overthinking. Going around in circles. Working through many rounds of iterations on proposals. Most of the times proposals did not get implemented. 3) Red tapes. At least 3 and above levels to get things done. Typical government agency style. 4) Tend to low ball experienced candidates by under offering salary. 5) Under offer designation. For eg if you have many years of relevant managerial experience, they will offer you Assistant Manager/Senior Executive. 6) If you stay too long, you may be limiting your own exposure to just the defence industry. 7) Typical military environment. Always thinking of covering backside. Not just your own but also need to cover others, making sure that they don’t drop ball. When others drop ball, you will be penalised for not doing enough to protect them. 8) Low tolerance for mistakes. Have seen people getting demoted and left as a result.
