What is the hiring process like at Ecolab?

      Ecolab reviews

      AVOID AT ALL COSTS

      Territory sales representatives
      Former employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Big company name for your resume

      Cons

I was a part of a 4 month interview process that resulted in time, energy, resources, personal and company funds wasted due to someone’s disorganization, lack of effort and urgency or timeline updates. Ecolab is too big of a company to have a District Manager with low ethics, work ethic and knowledge of the hiring process. You will dodge a bullet not working for an untrustworthy, disorganized and unreliable Manager like Melissa Kemp. I found another job that is way more stable, consistent and transparent. If she is any representation of how Ecolab operates and allows its company to conduct business, they’ll be plagued with bad leadership and a failing reputation for years to come.

Talented people wasted by bad leadership

      Anonymous employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

Independent work allows you to develop technical skills — mainly to make your own job easier, since there is no real support from management

      Cons

Lack of employee appreciation – skills are taken for granted. False promises of promotions and career growth. Frequent group layoffs, paired with "fake" internal support that leads nowhere. No feedback during internal recruitment processes. Management is unprofessional, inexperienced, and unable to lead effectively.

      Business outlook

      Pros

Importance placed on work/life balance and encouraged to take PTO.

      Cons

Some areas are understaffed and not hiring on new roles, leading to burnout and turnover.

      Pros

Hybrid work policy. Tools to complete work - equipment, software, etc.

      Cons

Work - life balance does not exist. Consistent over promise and under deliver from management concerning changes for pay equity, work-life balance, staffing. Hiring for new roles comes from overseas without considering impact to team in the US and abroad and how they are supposed to work together. Have to hit deadlines and targets no matter what. Given more responsibilities but not given promotion or role change.

      Pros

Um, there really wasn't any perk except for working from home.

      Cons

Company will gaslight you into the "Get a degree and the opportunities will open" just to get told NO over and over again. Even the HR hiring team will try to tell you what job you want. Noting good will come of this company with it's current World Economic Forum young leader as a C.E.O.. On top of they they lie in there research. Their Covid 19 disinfectant was tested against a "stock sample" and not the real thing where did they get a "stock sample" for a virus that was never seen before? Their D.E.I. program will also exclude you if you don't agree. Talk about being inclusive. They also pay poorly!

      Pros

Great place for gaining valuable experience and learning how to produce meaningful work.

      Cons

A lot of the leadership at this company have outdated mindsets and have been around for 30+ years. From my experience, they tend to keep toxic management around despite having issues brought to HR from multiple different subordinates and coworkers spanning several years. I learned that it is common knowledge within the company that they tend to underpay, especially new talent. If you want to consider moving areas it’s nearly impossible. I had a lot of experiences where meeting with management would leave me feeling discouraged and stuck. Again, this is was just my experience with Ecolab.
