      Do not follow safety guidelines

      Mail courier
      Former employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Very good company with great benefits and attentive care to employees however.

      Cons

Management is hard to schedule to talk to, they act evasive and waste a lot of time sitting around pretending to work while not contributing much to the company. They do not encourage safety guidelines to be met such as asking for help for lifting packages over 50 pounds in weight, yelling at you, and threatening you if you act too slow to move those packages. And allow drivers to lie on drug tests while operating large trucks in downtown NYC??!

      Pros

Great benefits, vacation, additional value added things to employees like discounts and health management resources.

      Cons

Work can be seasonal, so pressures at certain times of the year run higher. Right to work type company. Relatively few remote work options in a majority of departments.

      Recommend

      Business outlook

      Pros

You get to be by yourself all day I guess

      Cons

The way Fedex treats contractors is predatory and they don't care about your safety, benefits, or physical/mental health. Contract work happens so they're allowed to pay less and leave benefits up to the contractor manager, which good luck if you find one that cares about vehicle safety or general well-being. Also, Fedex itself is just allowed to tack on as much extra work as they please with no warning, adding extra time onto the start of the day with surprise packages. Also, every other delivery service that doesn't want their own workers breaking their backs dumps all their large packages onto us (and the package handlers who are also underpaid). Glassdoor is lucky I can't swear!
