Everyone I've worked with has been very helpful and oriented towards helping each other. They are pretty good about taking time off for appointments or vacation and with work-life balance. So far I've enjoyed my time here. Lots of opportunities to grow or change a career.

Pay could be more competitive

Overall benefit package is awesome. Great Healthcare options, dental, vacation, earned flex time, store discount, 401K, profit sharing.

Board and CEO only care about the bottom line. They act like they care, will say they care and then will reneg on promises. Over worked and underpaid even though they claim they pay comparable wages and are always monitoring wages. You can get a perfect yearly review and only qualify for a measly $0.10 raise. No real recognition for work done. Different departments are held to different standards, as are different employees. Can not retain employees, super high turnover and struggling bad to fill open positions at such low salary. I understand the food industry has been slow the past few years but don't punish your employees who are taking on more work for less pay.

Great company to work for if you want simple, physical work that pays well for no experience.

Schedule and labor is grueling, working 10-12 hour shifts often and clocking out at 4-5 am can take a toll on you. Job is better used as a stopgap while you save up money and look for better career opportunities.

Any company that has been around for 127 years must have something figured out. It will be there and will have decent benefits with good 401k and profit sharing. I also had a good experience being offered opportunities internally that were lateral moves where I was able to gain new skills.

For those with ambition, won't have the highest salary, advancement opportunities, or flashy titles.

Great benefits and very understanding and friendly culture. Development can be very self-driven. This can be great for developers who prefer independent and self-determined work style apposed to a more structured work style. Developers are given a lot of autonomy to guide implementation strategy and design which may not be ideal for developers who prefer more structured direction.

None. GFS is a great place to work where there are many opportunities. If you are willing and able, there is ample opportunity to succeed in a great work environment.
