Pros
Pay is good, training is thorough, big team with a high energy, 40% discount, commission based
Cons
Competitive and intense environment, a lot of pressure put on staff to do work outside of working hours
Pros
The salary is good due to the commission structure.
Cons
The management is focused on numbers and tends to care less about employees.
Pros
Fun and hip environment. Get a good amount of free product as well. Good commission structure for sales associates
Cons
No a lot of room for growth. Many times promotion are more in the title and not reflected in pay. Many of the higher up managers in the company are a bit too friendly with the women.
Pros
The company will invest into training you. You will have an unmatched education on fabrics, fit and measurements. You’ll have great training to be to properly fit customers and when it comes to learning the made to measure system, the procedures will set you up for success. The core sales team (not counting management), support staff and tailors are all amazing people. Fokke is a cool CEO and everyone on the training side of things are great people eager to teach and help you succeed. You will have the opportunity to make a lot of great connections with the clients who come through.
Cons
Follow me. This was an exhausting location to work at. The hours are not great. Work life balance will be non existent. It’s retail and that is a reality. The commission structure is ridiculous. It resets every month and you do not make commission until you cross 10k and afterwards it will only be 3% of everything you sell. Once you cross 60k you start earning 6% on everything you sell. If you manage to sell 100k that’s over $3400 after taxes then you can also add whatever your hourly is. You do the math to determine if that is fair or not. Top sellers are not always valued. I sold 2.5 million in sales throughout my 2 years with the company. That was over 1 million a year. You are hardly acknowledged for it. My first million was pointed out in a WhatsApp group chat. No mention of any raises or advancements. You are not offered a raise. A bonus or even a gift from the company. You don’t even get a free suit. When trying to inquire about other opportunities in the company in lieu of my top performance I was held back by my manager and received little support from my assistant manager. The Atlanta location throughout my time was riddled with leadership changes. From 2022-2023 we had a manager appointed from San Diego sent to manage us and the store environment became insanely toxic. Many individuals spoke up about the unprofessionalism and took their concerns to HR. Leading many people to be fired or in my case black balled in the company. The Regional Manager did nothing to protect the style advisors and made no effort to get to know any of us during his visits. Choosing only to congregate with the manager who caused problems at that time. When new applicants were hired the manager would spread rumors about many different individuals to new hires. Often getting the support staff and the tailors involved in the drama which caused significant turn over and damaged relationships between many in the work place. The manager in question, was lightly disciplined, if at all and then moved to the Flagship US store in SOHO. So bad behavior was rewarded. When it comes to being managed you will be micro managed on the floor. If it is slow and the store is clean they will constantly try to find busy work for you or look for things to be wrong. Should you ever experience difficulties in life that are effecting your work you will not be given the benefit of the doubt even if you are a top performer. The company will make comments about your body type so if you are on the heftier side or muscular be prepared to deal with that. SuitSupply started off as a great experience and quickly devolved into a horrible one. SuitSupply will quickly show you who they value and who they do not. It doesn’t matter how much you sell. Make your money and your connections and get out.
Pros
Nice store environment, the clothing allowance is a plus. My commute cost was paid for.
Cons
The expectations are through the roof but is reflected nowhere in your compensation. Throughout my time in the company the commission structure changed, so we took a paycut compared to the previous structure and I learned very early on that I was not paid equally to my male colleagues. Work life balance is NOT encouraged and you are expected to talk to clients, answer calls, get on meetings at all times, even unpaid on your off days. In fact when voicing concerns about health I was dismissed by management and told I do not care about the job if I cant show up 24/7. Sometimes you were not allowed to have a break on an 11 hour shift.. As far as DEI, there are quite some problematic aspects and the company feels like a boys club.
