Pros
the associates, seeing them learn and grow with the company, is great! salary can be good if the plan to sales is realistic (determined by district manager). helping customers and solve their problems, increase their property's value. Donations to local organizations (not just 25$ coupons) of materials, always makes you feel good!!
Cons
raises are crap, ive seen state minimums bring 7-10 year associates salaries the same as a new hire. poor managers who got to position by "who they knew" rather than being a good leader. if you obtain a target on your back, they will performance you out while ignoring their friends. Store manager will put you on tasks that do not help your areas, then again, performance you on other areas that are falling behind. district HR is just a puppet to keep out unions and stop information/problems from going up to higher levels. days off are non-existant, and ive seen managers work 6 day work weeks, destroying their families due to threats from store managers. store managers have little to no leadership and claim to be servant leaders, yet they are just metric based transaction managers (unless they don't like you, they ignore your accomplishments). Even seen write ups on managers who were on LOA (for birth of a baby).
