I received an email inviting me to a telephone interview and they asked which times worked best for me. After the telephone interview I heard back by e-mail that they went with another candidate.

Interview
I applied for the job online and was contacted by email a week later. We proceeded with a phone interview and the HR lady said she wanted to push me for a different role (if I was accepting of it) as she thought I was better suited for that. She emailed me after the phone interview to tell me she was checking with her boss. She followed up a few days later to apologize for the delay as she was out of office. She told me to wait. That was the last time I heard from her even though I routinely followed up with her.
Honestly, she was nice but it's awful to leave your potential candidates hanging. I wouldn't even have minded getting a rejection notice from a job application, but to ask me to wait and never contact me again - that was awful.
Shows that management is not what you want you deal with.
