      Store Colleague Interview

      6 Jan 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Halesowen, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Halesowen, England) in Nov 2019

      Interview

Group interview. There was 5 other people in my group. It wasn't really a job interview, but more casual get to know you type thing. Who you are, where you've came from, what you like to do, something interesting about yourself, and what chocolate bar you'd be which I didn't answer because those kinds of questions are dumb. After that we went on the shop floor to do some basic work which was just tidying up aisles while they talked about the kind of stuff we'd likely be doing. We were also taken into the warehouse to be shown how to use equipment and general safety stuff. Oh yeah we were asked to look out for something good and something bad while we were on the shop floor, and we were asked to give our observations when we got back to the interview room. In the end they told us it was a temp position to cover the Christmas period. I was annoyed by that but I thought I'd still give it a go and maybe get offered a permanent place in the new year. I didn't - they let me go. Disappointing because they need more working there. I think the key to be successful in this process is to listen, be friendly, show interest, and ask a few questions as you’re being shown around.
