I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Halesowen, England) in Nov 2019
Interview
Group interview. There was 5 other people in my group. It wasn't really a job interview, but more casual get to know you type thing. Who you are, where you've came from, what you like to do, something interesting about yourself, and what chocolate bar you'd be which I didn't answer because those kinds of questions are dumb.
After that we went on the shop floor to do some basic work which was just tidying up aisles while they talked about the kind of stuff we'd likely be doing. We were also taken into the warehouse to be shown how to use equipment and general safety stuff.
Oh yeah we were asked to look out for something good and something bad while we were on the shop floor, and we were asked to give our observations when we got back to the interview room.
In the end they told us it was a temp position to cover the Christmas period. I was annoyed by that but I thought I'd still give it a go and maybe get offered a permanent place in the new year. I didn't - they let me go. Disappointing because they need more working there.
I think the key to be successful in this process is to listen, be friendly, show interest, and ask a few questions as you’re being shown around.

Question 1
What is something positive and something negative you noticed while on the shop floor?
I interviewed at ASDA (Bilton, Yorkshire and the Humber, England)
Interview
The interview process you just go to front desk and say you’ve got a interview then they come down and get you then you go up and have a chat for a about 10 minutes and that’s it
The interview process at ASDA is designed to assess your suitability for the role and the company culture. It typically begins with an application review, followed by a brief telephone screening. Successful candidates are then invited for a more in-depth interview, which may include practical assessments or group exercises. The aim is to understand your skills, experience, and how you would contribute to their team. ASDA strives to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation for all applicants.
Initial interview followed by a team day session with activities / team work.
Relaxed environment felt more like a day to get to know people and to learn about the business. Some tasks required thought but nothing too onerous.
