      I interviewed at Adobe

      Interview

Interviewed for a few contract research roles at Adobe. In both cases, the "hiring manager" was actually a senior researcher, which seemed odd. I've only ever interviewed with actual managers at other companies, even for contract roles. And, in both cases, the researchers running these interviews were either unprepared or didn't facilitate hiring interviews very well. Here's an example: For one of these interviews, I made it to the second panel round which involved a brief case study overview and Q&A. The prep info I received was very sparse, and I wasn't sure exactly how to prepare because the info just wasn't good. When I got into the panel interview, the person hiring for the role just said "Ok, you can start now." I had to ask for intros from the people on the call (no introductions were offered). There was no indication of how the person running the interview wanted to use the time, and it felt like I had to facilitate my own interview. Worst panel interview experience I've had. I did not get an offer (no surprise) and would not have accepted if I had gotten one. If Adobe researchers are going to continue hiring contractors, they need some actual training.
