Surprised to find a review that took the words right out of my mouth and here to confirm it once again. Trust us.
The interview experience at Agoda was disappointing. After the interview, I was sure this wasn’t a company I wanted to work for. So many warning signs that the culture was gonna suck esp if you had to relocate for a job, you better think twice if you wanna be away from home working for a place that doesn’t treat you with respect. I understand that the tech industry is dynamic and fast moving, but definitely not an excuse to disrespect others.
It was a quick fire Q&A process with lots of questions, some irrelevant to the role. While I didn’t think the questions were exceptionally difficult, they were unexpected. To make things worse, the interviewer was very impatient and under such pressure, it can be hard to collect your thoughts. Furthermore unlike the big tech companies I’ve interviewed with (FANG), he wasn’t interested in your thought process at all. Rather, he seemed to only want to hear the things he wants to hear. So again, confirming that they’re looking for yes man & not diversity or openness that most tech companies value.
I also question his ability to answer questions because the interview felt like an extremely one way process and the interview is cut off exactly after 30 mins even if you still had doubts about the role.
When the JD states that “Agoda is not great at brand marketing, but we plan to change that”. You can bet it is and will never be if they have a marketing team under such leadership. Remember, great work is also related to great leadership and management. So no, they are definitely not going to change that. :)
I’m glad I had that interview to confirm that Agoda is crap.
Assessment test on analysis and a short sql test as the first qualification, and then meeting with HR, the team, case study and high level teams. The assessment was a multiple questions type and it was too short to finish 20 question in 45 minutes. They did mentioned that they prefer someone with high level skill in data analysis than traditional marketing skill for a marketing role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Agoda (Bangkok) in July 2025

The HR found me a year ago and invited me for an interview. Before the interview they shared a link for an initial exam like IQ test. After i passed, the screening call was organized. It last 15 mins and the hr guy asked me if I used Spss or not. I said no. After few minutes, the interview ended. I got rejection after a while. I wasted my time with this company. It was obvious from my resume that i have never used spss. It was easier in prefiltering the candidates and check their resumes before inviting them . Probably HR guy had a target to complete and wasted my time.
