      Customer Experience Specialist Interview

      8 Dec 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dublin, Dublin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Dublin, Dublin) in Nov 2014

      Interview

The first step was an online test called “Hireart” which consisted of four written questions and three videos, that I had to record. This took quite a while, nearly four hours to answer all and practice the videos (definetly too much). Few days later I was invited to the “Hire meetup” which was very inorganised. As “Airbnb friendly”, traveller and customer service experienced, I was pretty confident but the first feeling I had once arrived, was to that I was back in college considering the average age of the other candidates. There were almost 25 people squashed in a room with some still joining the meeting 40 minutes after the starting time and nobody of the recruiting team said a word. After a short introduction of ourselves and our travelling experience, we were divided in four groups and had to start the role play process in an extremely cold room. The last step was a 1to1 interview with team leaders and members of the team (some of them in the company only a few months) in which we had to talk again and again about ourselves, travelling experience, what Airbnb means for us and hobbies, so nothing at all about customer service or other professional skills. At some stage I didn't know what we were talking about and why I was there because there was nothing related to the job in the conversations. In the last part of the meeting (after more than three hours) some candidates were hanging around and weren't that sure if they were free to go or not. The complete joke has been the feedback that I received four days later in which they said that “after considering my background, qualifications and the conversations, they felt that I didn’t fit for the role because I haven’t got the necessary experience for that position” . I mean, not to argue about the fact that other candidates had more experience but why did they invite me to the second step after reviewing my CV and the Hireart which was more technical if I had not the relevant experience? They pretend to be “cool and different” but the recruiting process is absolute disgraceful and unprofessional. In almost ten years this is definitely the worse experience ever had. Seriously, if you're experienced and you're looking to move up in your career, don't waste your energy and days off, they are not looking for you.

      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Airbnb

      Interview

I applied online, and it took about two weeks to get my first interview. The entire interview process felt casual, friendly, and honestly quite enjoyable overall. 1. Screening Interview with HR They asked about my previous experience and why I was interested in a customer experience role. There was also a Q&A session about the position itself, along with a role-play exercise based on a real customer support scenario. 2. Interview with the Hiring Manager After passing the first stage, I completed an online assessment. The hiring manager interview focused more on practical customer support situations and role-play exercises involving real-case scenarios. 3. Final Interview The final round mainly focused on core values, culture fit, and my passion for the role.

      Customer Experience Specialist Interview

      8 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Singapore
      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Airbnb (Singapore) in Jan 2019

      Interview

It was a pretty straightforward and fun experience. 1. Video interview (recording) 2. Photo interview 3. Hiring meetup (similar to an assessment centre) 4. Core value interview I did not pass the Hiring Meetup, probably because I was too honest about my intention that I might not stay in the customer experience team for very long period (3-5 years).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Role plays as a real customer experience specialist, answering potential enquiries from both hosts and guests.
