The interview process consisted of a 30 minute initial screening with a recruiter, followed by a 30 minute interview with the hiring manager. After those interviews, I was asked to create and present a 45 minute presentation to six people detailing a bit about me, two of my previous projects, and why I wanted to work for Airbnb. After the presentation I met with the individual members of the panel and had 30 minute interviews with each person.
While the interview process itself was admittedly work + time intensive, everyone who I spoke to (for the most part) was respectful and intelligent and the interviews themselves were pleasant. That being said, I never heard if I had received the job or not after my final interview . I sent thank you notes for each interview for her to pass along, as well as 3 separate follow up emails to the recruiter. The last thing I heard was that they were still deliberating and that I would hear the following week. That was 3 months ago.
It's beyond unprofessional to have candidates put that much time and effort into an interview and never have the decency to even tell them if they received the job -- it's inconsiderate and quite frankly rude. My interview experience with Airbnb honestly gave me pause about the company itself.
