I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Akamai (Boston, MA) in July 2018
Interview
3 Rounds of Interviews, not counting recruiter.
Most by video conference including 2 video calls while I was in the HQ.
Very basic questions, weird that they had me come into Cambridge to do interviews over Video. I was rejected for lack of SME in "data transformation" but my experience was well know after first call with hiring manager.
After 11 hours of interviews I was surprised by lack of offer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Akamai in Oct 2025
Interview
It was a very long interview process that started with a recommendation in September. They took 4 weeks between first approach to first interview with the hiring manager, the interview was long and successful. Then 3 weeks for an interview with a “peer” after that silence which was Ok.My last interaction was on dec 5 when I asked the recruiter for an update via text message…and nothing! Finally on Dec 25 I received a generic rejection email.
