I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (Cape Town) in Mar 2022
Interview
Had to complete 2 rounds of interviews, one of which included a technical review. The first interview included a chat about personality traits, problem-solving skills, and some general software-based questions. The second interview was the more technical coding-based interview, where sorting algorithms were the primary focus.

Question 1
What problems I have faced and how I aimed to solve them.
Video screening then interview loop then behavioral interview. the behavioral interview was difficult because they would ask many question with STAR methods, and then follow up questions. I actually never heard back, then completely ghosted me even after sending many emails to the hiring manager, I got an automated email saying they moved with other candidates almost two months later.
I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (New York, NY)
Interview
The interview process consisted of three rounds. The first was a phone screening with HR to go over my background and motivation. The second round involved a technical assessment, which included algorithm and data structure problems. The final round was a panel interview with engineers and a hiring manager, where I was asked both technical and behavioral questions. Overall, the experience was well-structured and professional.

Question 1
Describe how you would optimize a slow-running SQL query.
Asked a friend to submit my resume, got email, had an interview on a system similar to Zoom. The interviewer went straight to programming questions in embedded devices. It wasn’t really a nice experience, very technical.
