Interview
Here’s the final version with the timing added naturally:
---
I applied to AWS in 2020 through a referral from a colleague whose friend was working there.
The first stage was a one hour screening interview with an Operations Manager. The conversation focused on leadership and behavioural questions, mostly scenario based, for example “Tell me about a time when…”. At the end, I had about five to seven minutes to ask my own questions. I found this round well structured and engaging.
The second round was another one hour interview with a different Operations Manager at the Dublin site. This followed a similar format, going deeper into Amazon’s Leadership Principles. It felt very structured and quite different from typical interviews I had experienced before.
After passing this stage, I was invited to the final interview loop. This consisted of multiple interviews, around four to five in total, lasting roughly five hours. There was a long one hour break after the first three interviews. It was by far the most challenging interview process I have ever gone through, but also one of the most rewarding. Each interview was heavily focused on leadership principles, with interviewers exploring both strengths and weaknesses through detailed scenario based questions.
By the end, I was completely exhausted, but also genuinely impressed by the depth and quality of the process. Although I had already accepted an offer from a startup that offered higher compensation, it was clear from the interviews that AWS would have provided an incredible learning environment.
Overall, I had a very positive experience and would highly recommend the process.
IT was tough. No clarity why i was rejected. Looks like they're looking for overqualified persons because hiring manager told me that he is looking for someone whom he can promote in less than 2 years to a next role
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services (London, England) in June 2025
Interview
The interview process was well-structured and professional. I applied online and was contacted within a reasonable timeframe to schedule the first stage. Communication from the recruiter was clear, and all instructions were easy to follow
