I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX) in May 2016
Interview
My biggest advice for this face to face interview (as cheesy as it sounds) is to be yourself! They are really looking for personality and friendliness as the flight attendants are choosing their future coworkers essentially. The face to face interview was really a great experience. The flight attendants that are running the interview make you feel really comfortable and welcome. Make sure you smile the entire time (no one is kidding when they say that they watch you and take notes). As comfortable as you get, be sure to remain professional and look the part. During the group activity be sure to have your input and listen to their directions. Relax during the group interview because the flight attendants asking the questions want you to do well, remember that. If you are invited to do the reach test, jump seat test, finger printing, etc. just know that they are not going to offer you the CJO on the spot anymore. I received mine within 48 hours of my interview. Overall, this interview was much more based on seeing who you are as a person rather than prior experience (of course they do ask about that) compared to the United face to face interview I attended.
