I applied online. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2016
Interview
Although they told us they make changes to the process and that they read everything on these boards, my experience was identical to what other people said - icebreaker plus group interviews with the same questions.
Of our group of 25-ish, only two people were apparently led in the "other direction" from the rest of us. I don't know how they answered, as they weren't in my group, but they looked like they walked off the pages of a magazine.
Although I wasn't offered the job, it was an extremely positive experience, and I really got the feeling that, once you're in, you're family.
On the way home, I was talking to one of the FA's on the flight, and he said some of his friends applied four to six times before they made it in. So, don't give up!
