      Flight Attendant Interview

      31 July 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Dallas, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in July 2016

      Interview

The interview process takes a lot of time. That's okay though, it just prepares you for the crazy lifestyle you are about to take on! After submitting your application, there is a web questionnaire that you have to fill out. Pretty basic and focus on customer service! Then if you pass that stage you will have a video interview. That's like 5 to 6 questions about why you want to work there and behavioral type questions. STAR method. situation-task-action-result. Then you wait and hopefully you get invited to fly out to Dallas for the face to face interview. They are watching you the entire time so be conscious of that. Dress professional and conservative. Engage with people. There is a group activity which is like an icebreaker. Then group interview with 2 recruiters and 6 interviewees. Our group was asked to 1. Tell us about yourself and why you want to be an American Airlines Flight Attendant 2. Tell about a time you dealt with a difficult customer 3. Why is the American Airlines uniform important? The third question was different for each person so there is no way to really prepare cause you don't know what you are going to get. Understand American Airlines culture and just be honest. Then we went back to go over pay and benefits when they called us one by one. I was taken to get fingerprints, reach test, and jumpseat and had a one on one with a different recruiting manager. Basically time to shine and show them that you want to be there and how your experiences have led you to this role. They did not let me know on the spot I got the job. I found out 2 days later through email and received a voicemail. Now just onboarding paperwork, background check, and drug test. After that you set up training dates, and then you are officially part of the crew!
