      Interview

After online resume submission, a situational and multiple choice survey is emailed. It is my understanding that a potential video interview is next. No offers yet as the status of the process is: In Progress. I marked No below as I am still waiting for more news..

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at American Airlines in Mar 2016

      Interview

I interviewed in DFW at the end of March with a fairly small group, I think we were about 15. There was no icebreaker like I thought, just the quick written activity. We seemed to sit at the tables just waiting for a while, I assume the interviewers were organizing our files, etc. Definitely don't sit in silence! Chat with the people at your table and ask them questions. Then the interviewers came in and called us out in groups of 4 for the group interview. They were 2 easy questions that we all answered and then a question on a card that you had to flip over just before answering it. They were all questions on Glassdoor, so study up and be prepared! Follow every specific instruction. Make constant eye contact with the interviewers...heck, with everybody! Smile like your life depends on it without looking like a serial killer. After this, we were walked back to the main room and shown a slide of benefits, followed by a Q&A before people came to pick us out one by one. I was brought back to do the reach test, fingerprinting, etc, and in my one-on-one interview (questions about customer service, volunteering, etc.), I was asked to read a piece of paper outloud inviting me to training. I found that many from my group were also signing the same papers, doing the urine test, etc. with me. My official job offer arrived in my inbox a few days afterwards. Tomorrow (about a week later) I'm scheduled for my language assessment. Overall, much more relaxed than I imagined. I didn't feel like eyes were on me at all times, like I read on here beforehand. It felt like the interviewers were all fairly busy but super super friendly. We got a snack break with some delicious treats (don't drink the coffee unless you have mints!) and everyone is so nice it takes you off guard. My advice is to be professional, friendly and highlight your unique differences in a professional way during the interview. Have a darn good answer for why you want to be a flight attendant. Make conversation with the person who's conducting your one-on-one interview. Also....how many times did I write "etc."??!
