I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Fort Worth, TX) in Oct 2013
Interview
1. Applied for online on 10/10/2013 took about an hour and a half
2. 10/16/2013 received invitation for webcam interview. Just 6 questions
3. 10/18/2013 got email to complete/update online applications. Just to confirm all info is accurate
4. 10/21/2013 interview invitation to Dallas for final interview
5. 10/22/2013 received flight itinerary. They fly you in and out for free.
6. 10/29/2013 Big day!
-Appt was at 10AM. Be very nice, say hello to everyone. Eyes are alway on you.
- 1st task write a small paragraph about where you would fly to and why.
- moved to your HOME ROOM were your separated into groups of 5-7
- there will be about 5-9 other flight attendants observing everyone during icebreaker
- icebreaker: draw a circle in the middle state three things everyone in the group have in common.
- then draw lines out of circle stating something unique about yourself.
- after everyone is done with the drawing process each group will have to present there work. within the group pick your speaker. you guys will go up, speaker will introduce themselves, then everyone else will introduce themselves as well. speaker will state three things in common then repeat there name. after each group member will have to state one of the unique statements that does not belong to them. Then one of the other groups will have to say which statement belongs to who in the presenting group. everyone will go up and present
- after group activity everyone will be called out in random order to be interview by two flight attendants in groups of 5
- you will be asked random questions. some groups will be asked two Q's. some will be asked all 5 Q's.
- after group interview you walked back to hOME ROOM and a presentation about a day of a flight attendants and AA and what the company is blah blah blah blah.
- during the presentation the other flight attendants will be determining who will be called out for finger printing and reach test. about 13 of us were called out for one on one. everyone else was sent back to airport.
- please remember: even if your fingerprinted, that doesn't me you got the job, that was just another form of alimentation process.
I stayed in touch with 5 other people that were fingerprinted and they all got the job except me. i had done so much research and everyone said that if you got FP that is was official you got the job! i im leaving proof thats not true! so please treat the whole process as an interview and be on your best behavior until you received an official email. I was overly excited and thats where i failed. so please take my mistake as a learning experience and take it serious til the end.
Tips:
1. Wear a SUITE!
2. Nails done.
3. Hair up! in a bun is preferred
4. i was told to have lips and nails match in color but i didnt. i had french done with neutral lip color.
5. Smile!
6. they want to see you nice, kind, helpful, willing to share. a smile at all times, laugh, and have fun.
7. Interact with EVERYONE, the people in your group, the ones not in your group, the flight attendants. Be yourself!
8. take extra pens if you can. take notes.
