      Flight Attendant Interview

      7 Nov 2013
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Oct 2013

      Interview

Applied online, got an email asking me to do a webcam interview. about four days later (although this time varies, some people dont get the email for weeks or even a couple months). I did mine over the phone because my webcam wasnt working properly. The phone/webcam interview lasts 3 minutes and you have to answer 6 questions. They are pretty basic interview questions. About 3-4 days later I got a phone call asking me to come down to Dallas for a group interview. The woman asked me if I had a passport, and i didnt at the time, but she told me that I could bring the receipt to the interview and that would be fine. AA paid for my ticket and I was in dallas about four days after I got the call. They provide a shuttle if you are going straight from the airport to the interview. The first thing they do is hand you a piece of paper with the question "If you could fly anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?" Then they take your passport/receipt and give you a name tag and you head to the conference room. The next thing they do is sit you at a table with 5 to 6 other people and give you a group exercise. You have a large sheet of paper at the table and you are supposed to write down three things you and everyone else at your table have in common and one thing that is unique to you. There are people watching you so make sure you are friendly! After everyone is finished the groups go up and read off the paper. You have to guess which fact belongs to who. The point of this is to get everyone comfortable. The second part is the group interview. 6 or 7 of you will go to another room and there will be 2 people interviewing you. Dont be nervous! Be yourself and it will be a piece of cake. Just remember you got this far, the only thing stopping you is yourself! There were about 3 questions. One was why do you want to be a flight attendant for AA, DONT say because you like to travel. Focus on your customer service skills. The third part in a presentation about the flight attendant job, then they take questions. While this is going on the interviewers are making a list of who they want to speak with individually. The interviewers will call you out of the room by name. Then they place you in another room where you fill out some paperwork. There will be people you calling you out of the room one by one to another room where you do a one on one interview, but in my experience it is more of a conversation. Then you preform the reach test, and have your fingerprints taken. And you are on your way back to the airport. This was the best interview I have ever been to. Even if I dont get the job It was still a very fun experience. Everyone was extremely friendly and nice. There is no reason to be nervous.
