I applied online. I interviewed at American Income Life
Interview
It was pretty good. I think the lady might have been eye-ing me from afar. However, that is expected from a wink like me. Word limits, ugh. One more word.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at American Income Life (Burlington, MA) in Apr 2013
Interview
Was contacted and invited to come in for an interview after submitting by resume. Arrived at the "office" to find about 20-30 candidates in the over crowded waiting area. Was invited to sit down with someone for an initial interview, which lasted about 5 minutes before he told me he would like to move on to the next step and instructed me to grab a seat in the large room next door. Sat down and a presentation began about what AIL does and why it was such a great company to work for. During the presentation they briefly explained that the job was all up to you and that your earning potential is unlimited, and advised anyone who wasn't comfortable with that to leave. After their long presentation about how great AIL was and why you should want to work there, they called the remaining people into another office to meet with another hiring manager one on one, and she basically asked a few very simple questions and then offered me the position after rushing through the commission structure. Throughout the interview process, I noticed that none of the desks had any computers or telephones at them (the receptionist had a small table with a laptop on it, but nothing else). There were no papers, files, or any other evidence that anyone regularly uses those desks in any of the rooms I saw or entered. The focus of the entire process was more on selling the candidates on the Company than actually interviewing candidates to see if they were a right fit. I was offered a job, and accepted it in the office but later rejected it after realizing what sort of job/company this was.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Are you comfortable with a competitive environment where you get what you put into your job?
Easy invite, arrive, short interview, put in a classroom with a presentation that doesn't mention that the job is life insurance sales until 30 minutes in. Need to drive your own car and provide your own laptop for the job.
