I answered a very vague ad on Craigslist and got a call back relatively quickly. I did a phone interview and was asked to come in for an in-person. I asked for details about the job and salary, to which she refused to answer.
Since I'm employed, I had to take time out of the workday to go, which I'm not necessarily comfortable with, but I did it anyway.
I arrived to find 5 other people in the waiting room who were going in for 5 minute interviews. I was interviewed by a 20-something guy who asked me 3 questions. They asked me to stay another hour, which I couldn't. I again asked for details about the job to which they declined.
I received a call from a woman who said that the 'boss' wanted to meet with me (she led me to believe this would be an in-person interview). I arrived for my 'interview" to find a classroom with 20 other people leading into an obnoxious, ego-filled boiler-room imitation of a presentation about the company. The 'boss' practically demanded we take notes while he rambled on and on using old sales techniques and 'motivational' techniques. I also had to fill out an essay about management and a multiple-choice quiz.
At the end of this experience, I come to find out there's 2 more interviews! Seriously? A 5-interview process for an entry level management position?
This entire process was filled with evasion, deceit, and and overall shady hiring practices. After 3 touchpoints with these jokers, I still don't know what the base salary or even basic duties of the job is.
Very disappointed.
