      Interview

Applied to the posting I saw based on very little information in the posting. It did not even have American income life on the posting. I found that out after, when I asked the "hr" for an email with the interview time, location, and website(I received a text). I took the interview thinking I would get good interview experience at least. I was wrong on that. Stage 1 "hr" interview consisted of 1 question, which was.... explain your management experience. Stage 2 interview consisted of about 5 questions and then a 15 min sales pitch explaining to me that I can make a lot of money. Lots of money. Security in money. Vested interest gets you money. Money is good. Money money money. When asked what reasons other than money someone would get into this career and stay, I got a bad sales response that more confused me than explained other benefits. Shady shady shady. Reasons why? Let me indulge you? 1. "Hr" from first interview was a sweet receptionist lady with a foreign accent that I feel bad for given what I have seen and learned so far of American life. 2. No identification of affiliation with industry or mother company until after contact (they even know they are shady) 3. Office space had folding chairs and no signs anywhere inside or out. 4. Go look at the definition on pyramid schemes. Basically they get out of it because the money from the scheme offers insurance to poor blue collar families, which from better business Bureau I can assume get hosed. 5. 2nd interview consisted of how much money there was in the world and that Warren buffet is an investor (whether this is true or not I really have no idea but I've heard he is a great philanthropist so at least he takes their dirty profits and cleans it with the best of detergents.) If you are driven by money and get a good night's sleep with your hand in a less fortunate pocket then I strongly urge you to try this out, as you will do amazing and have lotsa money.

      Interview

Got a call from a recruiter stating they found my resume on Monster.com. I asked why is an insurance company interested in hiring a 26 year Navy veteran with ZERO sales experience? She said sales isn't the only job open and that a salary (management) job was open as well. Intrigued, I went to the interview to learn about the company. In order to reach management, you must be in the field selling insurance for a period of time and do well enough to build your own team. Sounds great if you are single, out of college, and hungry to work long night time hours. However, I quickly found out it's not for me, since I have 2 kids and a need to replace senior enlisted military pay NOW, and not wait for an undisclosed amount of time based solely on sales.....Needless to say, it sounds like an awesome company to work for, and I'm sure I would've succeeded, just don't have that kind of time.....
