I applied through other source. I interviewed at Anthropic (London, England) in June 2024
Interview
I was asked to complete a Code Signal interview, made out of four questions of increasing difficulty where each one builds on the previous one. Ran out of time before finishing the last one and got rejected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Code Signal question about coding up basic functionality for a bank.
I passed the initial screening and the coding stages. The coding was straightforward. But they told me they can't continue with me at this time. It was very unexpected. But the process was fast.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General questions, like my research background and fit to this job.
I applied online. I interviewed at Anthropic (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
90 minute code signal as the first step; 4 increasingly complex questions. Usually the idea is to implement some toy "file system" or "package manager" or "bank app" or the like; anthropic uses a pretty interviewee-friendly version (no hidden test cases etc)
The process was very focused on software engineering skills. I was expecting more questions or projects related to language models or machine learning and was surprised about the focus on leetcode problems.
