      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Appco Group (Toronto, ON) in May 2016

      Interview

The overall environment in the lobby was loud and busy, wasn't too overbearing but definitely not your average office setting. There were a few other candidates waiting in the seating area. I was given a sheet to fill out, basically the information you can find on my resume and a few questions (which could have been easily asked in the interview). I was brought in with another person and we sat down with an interviewer. He asked us both the same questions (which was 3 easy questions) and then proceeded to talk about the success of the company and how amazing their client list is. I was expecting more of a "get to know me" interview, but it was no more than 10 mins of company background and then I was asked to come again the next morning to see another interviewer. In my opinion, it was a waste of time. After reading reviews on glass door, my experience was almost identical and was expecting the remaining process to go the same way so I didn't bother waste any more of my time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Appco Group (Sydney)

      Interview

-sent in my resume, went through 3 stages of interviews. The initial 2 were with employees and the final one was with the managing director I received the offer but I turned it down because something didn't feel right. When I spoke to the interviewers it seemed they were all in it for the money and spoke about the customers in unfavourable ways: they didn't even care about the product or the customer. I got the impression that the boss was one of those 'I want results' types who didn't care about employee wellbeing and saw employees merely as tools to earn extra cash. He came across as arrogant and demanding. I didn't feel comfortable working with that kind of company culture. Also the conditions and wages are terrible! Commission only, no set hours. One employee said he worked from 9am to 8pm once and often worked overtime- all for an unstable pay check. You'd be better off working in a regular retail store. Also I witnessed their 'morning sales meeting' and it seriously sounded like a frat party. They were screaming. Really unprofessional. I am not coming back. I am seriously so glad I turned down the offer. Overall the interview process was very professional and well managed, but the company culture and employee treatment were very poor.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. It’s important to clarify that you did not have an interview with Appco Group as we do not engage any independent contractors, you must have met with one of the companies we sub-contract as a sales and marketing supplier. It’s extremely important to Appco Australia that the suppliers we use represent our clients professionally and responsibly, so we are concerned to read your comments about how customers were discussed. We would appreciate you contacting us so we can investigate this further with the supplier in question. Please email us at: icenquiries@appcogroup.com.au The benefits of being an independent contractor are the flexible working opportunities and the ability to define your own level of income. We appreciate this arrangement is not for everyone, which is why it’s important to receive all the information so you can make an informed decision. We wish you all the best with your career.

Sales and Marketing Field Representative Interview

      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Appco Group (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Overall the interview was easy. They have you come in for one interview and if that goes well they invite you for a second. Word of warning- There were some red flags raised in this interview for me. I was approached to come in for an interview without applying. During the interview they avoid telling you what the role largely is. During the second interview I got a bad feeling despite the interview going well as they sold it somewhere you would advance quickly, a little too quickly. Looked into after I got home to find out it was a door to door sale commission job. Great but I would have appreciated the warning before hand!
