I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Aquatic (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2023
Interview
First round in an OA with two parts. A theory part with general linear regression questions (ridge, lasso, successive orthogonalization), and a data part where you need to find use a linear model to fit some data that is heteroskedastic, and find a way to practically deal with heteroskedasticity and adjust estimator variances. After the OA is passed there a first round of interview (pair programming). Then a second round, followed by a final "virtual on-site".
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked to download a Pandas dataframe containing hourly weather data from 3 weather stations spanning a year. Had to do some manipulation of the dataframe to find specific information such as first temperature reading of each day for each station. Then had to find first, last, minimum and maximum readings of each day for each station without using pandas builtin functions, with a single pass by iterating on rows.
