I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Ardent Communities (Westerville, OH) in Mar 2023
Interview
It went very well in my opinion. I came very prepared for my interview. I showed up on time. 10 mins early to fill out any paper work, I came professional dressed. The interview went great it lasted for about an hour.
It is similar to almost any other interview; Questions of your skills, who you are as a person, strengths and weakness, etc. They want to see who you are as a person to evaluate if you are the person they are looking for.

Interview
I attended an open interview for a leasing consultant position that had been posted under the Columbus Craigslist job section. I arrived at the suite and the receptionist was very nice and handed me an application to fill out. The interviewer was in the lobby and introduced himself, telling me he would be conducting the interview once I finished the paperwork.
I finished and was escorted into a meeting room for the one-on-one. He was surprised that I had come in without filling out an application first, and had no idea about the ad I was referring to. He continued with "let me take a look at that resume" and immediately started chewing me out for it. He explained to me that I had too many jobs, and proceeded to sit there and tell me, at 21 years old, that most leasing consultants they hire on have been in the same job for 4-5 years or more with sales and/or customer service experience, and if he let my application pass through to the hr department he knew they would say no, so he wasn't even going to "waste my time".
I wish there was a nicer way he could've went about it. He never asked me a single question to explain my resume, I don't think he knew how young I was and was just assuming everything.
I have worked in retail/front desk and a call center, and have 3+ years of customer service combined. Usually hr recruiters are the nicest people in the company, so I was taken aback and I'm not sure what to think about this company. He gave me a card as he walked me out and said "if you find another position and stick with it for long enough you think you can try again, call me." but I just threw the card away and I don't think I want to try again when I get to that point.
