The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Artlist (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Feb 2025
Interview
I had an interview for a Senior Full Stack Engineer position.
First, I had a phone call with a recruiter, followed by a call with the team lead who was hiring for the position. During our conversation, he asked me to talk about a project I had worked on.
After almost a week, I was scheduled for a Zoom interview with the same team lead. The interview didn’t include live coding but focused mainly on React principles, questions about hooks, the event loop, and similar topics.
Then, I was given a system design question about an alarm clock—planning the database, server, and frontend, and how they interact.
The interview went very well, and the interviewer was very nice. I found it a bit odd that their process included only theoretical interviews with no coding tasks at all.
Later, the recruiter called me to say that they were moving forward with other candidates because the role is more backend-focused, while my strength is in frontend.
At the same time, they offered me the opportunity to continue interviewing for a frontend position on a different team, which is something I really appreciate, as it’s not something that happens often.
