Interview
The initial contact from the recruiter and phone interview went well. I then had a phone interview with the hiring manager which I thought went well. He even gave me his contact info for any follow up questions. Then an entire month went by with no communication. I reached out to the recruiting team and received a response that they had no update but would get one from the hiring manager and let me know. Nothing for another few weeks. Sent a 2nd follow up email and no response. No rejection email either. Being a hiring manager myself, I’m mindful of the candidates I interview and will have HR send notices quickly if I know you’re not going to move on in the process. This is out of respect for the candidates. I was disappointed that a credit union of this size doesn’t have their recruiting/HR communication dialed it. It scaled back my desire to work for BECU tremendously, because if this is how you’re treated pre-hire, how will you be treated as an employee?
