I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at BECU (Tukwila, WA)
Interview
2016: The interview process started with a cold call from a BECU recruiter. I was not interested at that time though I agreed the recruiter could call me again in a few months. Upon follow up call from recruiter I expressed mild interest in meeting the team. From that point it felt as though the recruiter was in my face constantly via calls and LinkedIn messages. Recruiter was my new BFF.
On site interview was eventually scheduled, despite promises didn't receive interviewer/loop information in a timely manner. (received names very, very late the night before the interview) Was placed in an interior, messy, conference room with no windows and no offer of a glass of water.
First interviewer took time to explain the situational/behavioral interview approach. Asked me about my background and then asked me to describe a difficult work scenario. Upon leaving, first interviewer didn't know who I was meeting with next. Second interviewers (2) followed same approach as first interviewer. Asked same situational question as prior interviewer. At conclusion didn't know who I was meeting with next. Third interviewer (potential coworker) proceeded to ask me the same situation question as the other interviewers. Knowing these questions were coming from an approved list, I asked him if this was intentional or if he'd like to pick a different question to get some variety in my responses and work experiences. We chatted for the remainder of our time together. At conclusion interviewer didn't know what to do with me and walked me to the lobby/front door.
Proceeded to drive home and wondered if I should've closed the loop with the recruiter who had greeted me that day. By this time I was too far down the road and decided maybe they follow-up via phone. NEVER heard from this recruiter again! Two months elapsed and I finally had to get quiet feedback from someone else that they'd filled the role.
Fast forward 6 months: Contacted by a different recruiter for another, though similar, position. Was busy and didn't respond immediately. On third day recruiter contacted me again to ask if I had any questions about her message/the posted position, could I make referrals. I responded that I'm not interested but offered to send folks her way if I run across anyone who would be a good fit. No follow-up thank you. Never heard from this recruiter again.
I won't say this was a negative interview experience because I've experienced far worse elsewhere. Suggest that BECU's recruiters improve their candidate handling. Also suggest that interviewers coordinate before a candidate interview to understand who is on the loop and what questions each will ask.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us. This does not sound like the type of experience the BECU Recruiting team strives to deliver. I'd welcome the opportunity to talk with you about your experience. Please feel free to call me at 206-812-5353.

BECU Recruiting
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at BECU (New York, NY)
Interview
For the posted position the first step was a phone screen, recruiter was friendly and easygoing. Asked basic questions regarding work history, and some specific job related tasks. Pay range was discussed, recruiter asked what I was looking for as far as compensation concerned.
