Interview was for an urgent hire position, which is why they scheduled the in-person interview almost immediately after my phone call with the recruiter. Was very apparent that the hiring manager in charge was not prepared whatsoever for the interview, which lead to a very unfocused conversation. Shortly after concluding the interview, I was given a phone call with the official job offer. I signed an official letter of employment, went through the official onboarding process, only for them to rescind their offer a day before my official starting date because they had found another candidate.
