I applied online. I interviewed at Bell Gully (Auckland, Auckland) in Apr 2025
Interview
I received a quick call from their lovely HR Advisor, and then met in person with the Communications manager and HR Advisor a their office. They were late to meet me as they openly shared that the previous interview went over.
It felt as though they had decided from before I'd even got there that I wasn't the preferred candidate, and I suspect the person before me was. I was booked in for 45 mins, the interview was shy of 30mins. The Communications Manager kept describing the culture as being very conservative, wanted to know about my experience in working on work where partners disagreed with each other. She really didn't sell the job. She openly shared they had little to no budget for marketing.
When I was called to say I wasn't proceeding to the next step the feedback I got was that I lacked strategic thinking.

Question 1
How have you managed when two partners don't agree on the work you're doing (note this role was all about launching their new brand - sounded like a pretty toxic environment if this was the problem at hand)

Interview
It was very informal, more of a conversation about you, your experience and whether you’d be a good fit. There were two interviews, with different partners, then an offer process.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Bell Gully
Interview
The interview was an informal, unstructured chat in their offices. There were two interview rounds, the first interview was with HR and a Partner. The second interview was with another Partner. I was asked to do a technical exercise (by email) followed by coffee with the team off-site.
