I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Best Buy (Burlington, MA) in Dec 2009
Interview
I initially applied online. I contacted the company to inquire about the status of my application. I spoke to an assistant manager who asked me several basic questions and then followed up with making an appointment for a face to face interview. When I went in for the interview several days later it was a very friendly environment. The manager was very personable and made me feel comfortable right away. I left feeling confident and pleased. He informed me that I'd be hearing back from them to schedule a third interview with the general manager of the store. I eventually got that call, had the third interview (which went just as smoothly as the first) and was offered the job.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you were faced with a difficult problem and couldn't find a solution. Why couldn't you find a solution, and how did that make you fee?
Fine, they do a online system that was a little weird but I guess that’s the sign of the times. Besides that they did ask a lot of customer service oriented questions.
I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Best Buy in July 2010
Interview
When I was hired they had up to three interviews, but if you go to a job fair you could potentially be hired the same day. They ask you the same general questions like most retailers do, so no surprise there. I said logic statements such as: "I believe in team work" and "the customer comes first", and well I got the job.

Question 1
They ask you to be detailed in your worst encounter and best encounter. In the process of describing your worst encounter they are checking to see if you will say something negative about the company.
