I applied online, and got a call back within about 2-3 days. On the phone, we did a quick interview, then the lady scheduled me for my first interview, which was a panel interview. There were a bunch of different people applying, so it took a little bit longer to get calls back. I got through that though, and a few days later I got a call back for my second interview. My second interview was with just one person, and he was really relaxed, and really cool about the whole process. All the questions were pretty standard, talking about team work, and how would you deal with defiant customers, shop lifting, etc. He did explain to me that working for Best Buy includes a lot of training, at least 40 hours, and you have to learn 3 different check out methods, shipping methods and a bunch of different things. After that, it was about 3 days before I got called back for my interview with the General Manager. Once you make it to the 3rd interview you are pretty much guaranteed a job, unless you are a complete whack job to the GM. The 3rd interview is discussing basically how the company works, all the policies, and goes pretty in depth with Loss Prevention, and basically other ways to get you fired (such as using your employee discount for anyone but yourself). At the end of the 3rd interview I was offered a position in Digital Media, which consists of Computer, MP3, and Digital Camera sales. At the end of the drug test, the GM gave me a form to go take a drug test within the next 48 hours. This has been the longest part of the interview process for me. It has taken about a week to get the drug test results in, because they send the sample to a lab, then corporate has to verify the results, and my background check still isn't in yet.
